Opinion: 8k TV are a gimmick and a waste of money, and probably will be for another decade.
I saw over on Samsung’s website that they are pimping 8k TVs now.
Here’s the problem, and it’s a big one: with current bandwidth limitations and video compression, even 4k is barely being utilized..

8K blurays will never arrive for one very good reason. There is not enough space on a bluray disk for an 8K movie. An ultra HD disk holds about 66GB of data. An 8K movie using the same compression scheme used today would need around 264 GB’s thus you would need 4 disk to watch just one movie.
